Northridge, CA September 10, 2017 – The Resistance – Northridge, Indivisible will be protesting Mike Pence who will be at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Thursday, September 14th to host a fundraiser dinner for the GOP California Representatives that are vulnerable in the 2018 mid-terms. While he’s in there pandering to the 1%, We, the People will be outside engaging in Democracy. We will make our voices heard. We, the People, who represent America, will be calling Pence and the GOP to task to represent ALL Americans no matter race, color, creed, or sex. Our Democracy should not be for sale. Pence and the GOP have offended, marginalized, and oppressed people and communities for far too long. It's time to loudly and boldly show them who we are. We are diverse. We are colorful. We are amazing. Dress and signage accordingly. Just do you.

We will be gathering at the Electric Fountain across the street from the Beverly Hilton since it's likely the Secret Service will be blocking off the sidewalk around the perimeter of the hotel.

We encourage you to use #Engage2Act on social as you're talking about this event.

We will also be actively counter fundraising to benefit organizations of your choice, such as Swing Left, Planned Parenthood, CHIRLA, Black Lives Matter, LGBT Center, etc. Feel free to donate in the name of Mike Pence. We will be registering voters and connecting anyone who wants to take a more active role in civic engagement with a group in their neighborhood.

Join us and let’s show them how this is done. We have all the power. Let’s use it.

Parking: Parking restrictions before 6 (1--2-hour parking during the workday) no restrictions after 6, during weekdays. We looked at some residential streets N, of Wilshire, such as Walden (2 hour before 6), Linden (1 hour before 6) Roxbury (no parking 8-5). Therefore, no limitations after 6 on many of the streets. There is also a 2 story lot that runs a few blocks between Santa Monica and Little Santa Monica, has paid parking before 6 and free parking after 6.

The Resistance - Northridge, Indivisible, is a volunteer group of progressives in Northridge (Los Angeles) who are working together to drive political change starting at the local level. We stand for inclusivity, equality, freedom, and opportunity for everyone. We believe change starts municipally by building relationships with constituents to increase voter turnout in every election, especially in our community. We look for opportunities to drive change here and across the country and will work closely with activists in each area to assist in their efforts (i.e. phone banking and canvassing to help flip a district, etc.).
