October 9, 2017 Newport Beach, CA – Vice President Mike Pence is coming to orange county in order to fundraise for the Republican Party, including representatives Rohrabacher, Royce, Walters and Issa. The once Republican stronghold now holds the four seats which are said to be vulnerable and will lead to the flipping of House to the Democrats in 2018. Constituents from labor and grassroots organisations will be gathering to protest the Vice President and this fundraiser, because our representatives and this presidential administration do not represent the values of Orange County voters. In 2016 OC Voters expressed that they were against prioritizing people over profits and rejected Trump’s agenda of Corporatism, and have expressed disappointment in our representatives functioning as rubber stamps for a president who has systematically worked to jeopardize access to health care, women’s rights, access to public education, LGBT+ rights, workers protections, working wages, and a protected environment. The citizens of Orange County are coming together on Monday to say that the Trump agenda is not welcome here.
